ALABAMA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOW HUNT ALABAMA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOW HUNT DECEMBER 1st - DECEMBER 10th 2014 HOSTED BY: GREAT SOUTHERN OUTDOORS WILDLIFE PLANTATION UNION SPRINGS, ALABAMA Great Southern Outdoors will be hosting the 1st annual world championship bow hunt during the dates of December 1st- December 10th, 2014. This championship bow hunt will consist of 2 brackets with each bracket consisting of 10 teams made up of 2 bow hunters per team. Each hunter will be allowed 1 trophy buck (8pts or better), 1 doe and 1 wild hog- allowing each team a total of 6 animals. Each team will be allowed to draw an area of land upon arrival and check in at Great Southern Outdoors -- each team will be responsible for scouting and placement of their stands; (this includes climbers and lock-on's). Bracket 1 (November 30th -- December 4th): Each team will arrive at Great Southern Outdoors at 2 pm November 30th - scouting will begin on December 1st -- Hunting will be December 2nd- 4th. Bracket 2 (December 6th -- December 10th): Each team will arrive at Great Southern Outdoors December 5th at 2 pm -- Scouting will begin December 6th -- Hunting will be December 7th- December 9th. Winners will be chosen based on the following point system: - Points per hog - Weight of doe (over 80 lbs) - Weight of buck - Total rack score (Judging will be conducted by the Alabama Conservation Dept) Bracket 1 winning team will be chosen at 7PM December 4th Bracket 2 winning team will be chosen at 7PM December 9th The winning team in both brackets will win $2500.00 per team -. Both bracket winners will return free for a 3 day hunt during the first time ever extended season during the Alabama rut February 1st -- 10th. Both winning teams from each bracket will compete in the final Alabama Super Bow Championship Hunt to win $5000.00. Total winning to be awarded for the Alabama World Championship Bow Hunting Team: $13,600.00. Cost is $3,000.00 per team plus 10% tips for guide services, cooks and housekeeping.
